Let’s look into an RFID definition. RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. 

Radio Frequency Identification is a technology that allows for the identification and remote tracking of products, pets, and even people through the use of radio waves. 

RFID stands to replace bar codes in that it’s more effective because each RFID “chip” has a unique serial number.

Each product with an RFID chip has its very own “identity”. Inside each chip, or “tag”, is a transponder.

An RFID Reader has an antenna and transceiver that “activates” the transponder and allows the “tagged” information to be read on the Reader.
