Chakras & Ancient Alchemy

Chakras & Ancient Alchemy

The seven chakras are the centers in our bodies in which energy flows through. A chakra (pronounced “cha”-“kra” with a resounding “ch”) is a center of energy. Originating from Sanskrit, it literally means “wheel” by association with its function as a vortex of spinning energy interacting with various physiological and neurological systems in the body.

Chakras are energy centers within the human body that help to regulate all its processes, from organ function to the immune system and emotions.  Each chakra has its own vibrational frequency, that is depicted through a specific chakra color, and governs specific functions.

The chakra colors are typically broken down into seven and follow the order of the color of the rainbow, from red to purple and white. These colors reflect the different frequencies of light and energy associated with each energy center.

Blocked energy in our seven chakras can often lead to illness, so it’s important to understand what each chakra represents and what we can do to keep this energy flowing freely. Here’s a quick summary:

Root Chakra — Represents our foundation and feeling of being grounded.

  • Location: Base of spine in tailbone area.
  • Emotional issues: Survival issues such as financial independence, money, and food.

Sacral Chakra — Our connection and ability to accept others and new experiences.

  • Location: Lower abdomen, about two inches below the navel and two inches in.
  • Emotional issues: Sense of abundance, well-being, pleasure, and sexuality.

Solar Plexus Chakra — Our ability to be confident and in control of our lives.

  • Location: Upper abdomen in the stomach area.
  • Emotional issues: Self-worth, self-confidence, and self-esteem.

Heart Chakra — Our ability to love.

  • Location: Center of chest just above the heart.
  • Emotional issues: Love, joy and inner peace.

Throat Chakra — Our ability to communicate.

  • Location: Throat.
  • Emotional issues: Communication, self-expression of feelings and the truth.

Third Eye Chakra — Our ability to focus on and see the big picture.

  • Location: Forehead between the eyes (also called the Brow Chakra).
  • Emotional issues: Intuition, imagination, wisdom and the ability to think and make decisions.

Crown Chakra — The highest chakra represents our ability to be fully connected spiritually.

  • Location: The very top of the head.
  • Emotional issues: Inner and outer beauty, our connection to spirituality and pure bliss.

The function the chakras is very intricate in that it is an energy system that communicates with the body via biological systems, such as the endocrine glands and nervous system, to keep it balanced and healthy.

Disturbances in the subtle energy of the chakras translate into physical manifestation and symptoms who are likely associated with the corresponding glands and organs. It is not to say that chakras are physical or physiological in nature. They are considered as energy centers that influence our being at many levels, including the physical and biological levels.

There are two chakra glands that serve to regulate overall glandular and biological function: the pituitary gland chakra and pineal gland chakra.

The pituitary’s main function is to regulate body chemistry. Located between the eyes, this pea-sized gland regulates emotion and intellect and works in partnership with the pineal gland to achieve overall balance.

Pineal Gland Chakra

Essentially, the cone-shaped pineal gland governs and (when necessary) inhibits pituitary gland function. It is the balancing of these two glands that help facilitate the opening of the Third Eye.

The 144000 petals of the main chakra or coronal (located to the summit of the cranium) represent the 144000 rays of light originated from all the seven chakras, or centers of energy of the body, deployed and balanced, or again the 144000 vibrations of the divine Creation which travel in the cosmos and that is source of life.

When we add the number of petals of the five inferior psychic centers, we obtain a total of 48 petals. By adding 96 petals of the frontal center (the place of the third eye where the small number must receive its divine mark), we obtain the number 144, the symbol of the perfect and expressed spiritual work, that is to say of the marriage between the soul and the personality.

The kundalini serpent lies coiled at the base of the spine. Through meditation, the fiery serpent ascends. This is what is known as “Raising the Devil.” There are 33 vertebrae in the in the human spinal column. The kundalini serpent ascends the 33 vertebrae of the spine.

The original religions centered around the reverence for the serpent. The serpent is the symbol of the kundalini. The “Tree of Knowledge” is really the map of the human soul. It is seen in nearly every ancient religion pre-dating Judeo/Christianity. The trunk symbolizes the spine, and the branches symbolize the chakras and the kundalini pathways. There are 144,000 nadis (channels for the kundalini life force) within the human soul.

The Budda sat beneath the “Bo Tree” and achieved enlightenment. “Bo means serpent, as in Bo-A or Boo-Ta.” The fig tree was known as “The Tree of Wisdom” Ficus religiosa. The Christian church corrupted this with the placing of fig leaves over the genitals of Adam and Eve.

The Kundalini Shakti energy field in Hinduism is represented as a serpent, a feminine power that rises upwards to the crown chakra to meet Shiva, the masculine.

“Jacob’s coat of colors” in the bible is the aura. The number seven is the chakras. The interpreters of old have it all wrong about the “seven planets.” The ancients knew much more than given credit for regarding astronomy.
Anyone familiar with Chinese medicine and advanced martial arts is aware of the chi (the life force, same as the kundalini) and how it is more active in certain pathways in the body on certain days and hours.

The authors of alchemy texts in those days put their writings in codes in order to escape persecution by the church.
