Entry Level Pharmaceutical Sales Associates are Charged with Increasing Scripts

Entry Level Pharmaceutical Sales People Push the Drugs of the Future.

To a new science college graduate, entry level pharmaceutical sales may have great appeal as a first job, in particular the higher average salary they are likely to receive, and where they are exposed to the product of cutting edge science and technology.

That’s where the glamour and attraction invariably stop.

Pharmaceutical sales is a tough world, with strong competition, particularly at the bottom, most likely doing the rounds of family physicians with the sort of medication they are prescribing.

Advancement or promotion depends on either a specialist qualification, knowing the right people who make the buying decision, or just hard work selling the most!

Most job adverts state that a good candidate for pharmaceutical sales representative will have a bachelor’s degree, a conscience towards occupational values, a background in group cooperation skills, and the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and manually.

In actual fact, 6 times out of 10, pharmaceutical sales people will have a bachelor’s, masters, professional or PhD degree.

That is more than twice the normal number in any other industry.
