The Echelon Watch is a Reality

The Echelon Watch Must Become Accountable.

Whether or not the Echelon watch truly exists is something that has been debated by public and government alike for many years now.

According to the United States government as well as the National Security Agency the Echelonprogram does not exist in any way, shape or form.

The truth behind this adamant dismissal of Echelon reports is far from what the government is giving to the public.

The Echelon system, for those who do not know, is a government run program that involves the interception of communications from sources across the globe.

This includes all forms of communications from faxes to microwave transmissions and everything in between.

In laymen’s terms, the system scans all intercepted communications and looks or listens for words and phrases deemed to be questionable.

The Echelon watch system then catalogs that particular transmission in which the “keyword” was found and sends it on for analysis by the various agencies involved in the system’s upkeep.

This begs a huge question, who is it that says what the particular key words or phrases can be and how is it decided that there is probable cause for intercepting the transmissions in the first place?

This is the dilemma facing the public now, how can they keep their right to privacy when faced with Echelon?
